Alloys

Ritam steels produces a wide range of alloy steels for castings. Our expertise lies in producing castings with the following specifications:

  • Manganese-steel according to IS: 276 specifications (grades1-7) up to 2500kg per piece, Manganese -alloy steels with 12-22% manganese
  • LLow allow and high alloy steels grades with manganese, chromium, molybdenum and other alloys.
  • Casted and machined parts for mineral processing and material handling equipment for mining industry
  • Hi Chrome white iron castings for Hammer mills and Impactors
  • MS castings for machine tools and mother machines
  • Ni hard/HRCS castings for mining cement and power plants.

We are manufacturing Jaw and Cone crusher liners in various grades of Manganese with or without chromium

Grade

Composition

Uses

High Manganese Well Crush Alloy

13-14% with Chrome

Preferable for Jaw liners and Impact liners

High Manganese Super Crush Alloy

18-20% With or with-out Chrome

Preferable for Cone crusher and gyratory crusher liners

High Manganese Dura Crush Alloy

21-22% with or with-out Chrome

Preferable for Highly abrasive stone or mineral ores for Cone Crushers

High Chrome White iron

18-28% Chromium

Suitable for Impactors and VSI pars for highly abrasive applications

EN Series Low Alloy steels

Low carbon steels with hardness upto 350 BHN

Crusher machinery fastening accessories

Mild Steels

NI Hard/HRCS

Excellent for jaw crusher liners, cone crusher bowl liners and mantles- WELL-CRUSH AND SUPER CRUSH alloys are optimized with Carbon and manganese levels to provide the best abrasion resistance for light to medium section parts.

For Light sections, general use Hadfield Manganese steel without Chrome in 14% and 18% Manganese.

Foundry capabilities

Mold Shop

  • CO2 silicate molding –4 x Mullers750kg/batch with up to 6 loads per hour.
  • Intensive mixer with a capacity of 100kgs per batch with up to 15 batches per hour.
  • Continuous mixers for Phenolic binder applications to Silica and olivine sand

Melt Shop

  • 2 MT & 3 MT crucibles
  • Capable of producing any grade of Carbon steel and High alloy steel as we can operate with acid, basic and neutral refractory lining on crucibles
  • An arrangement for gas purging and micro alloying ensures a clean metal producing a quality casting free of impurities and inclusions.

Pattern Shop

  • In house pattern shop.
  • Prototype and production patterns for castings are made using Teak, Deodar, Blue Pine(kail) woods.
  • Aluminum and Epoxy material patterns.
  • Patterns can be machined using Vertical turning lathes, horizontal lathes & shapers.
  • In House pattern shop allows for better upkeep of patterns that ensures the casted part has no or minimal variation across different batches.

Heat Treatment

Two Heat Treatment furnaces with 6 MT & 12 MT per batch with Automatic control system to moderate different temperature cycles.

Testing/ quality assurance

Quality improvement is one the core strategy for our business that in ingrained at every step in the organizational process so as it all comes together and produces a quality culture that in turn reflects in our products.
At production, level the quality planning of castings is set right during pattern development and production planning. The technical tem evaluates the design and makes a product quality plan for the product. Modeling and simulation software are used in engineering and design of new castings/products.

The foundry is equipped with metallurgical and physical laboratory to carry out all the required testing in-house. We also verify our testing facilities with a NABL (national accreditation board for testing and calibration laboratories) accredited lab.

Every piece is tested for dimensional accuracy and surface defects using MPI or DP test, so no defective pieces leave the factory negligently. The castings also undergo vigorous pre-dispatch inspections if so according to customer specifications.

In critical or highly engineered castings, UT testing is also done to satisfy the customer’s quality directives.

The company has achieved ISO-9001:2015 certification to prove its commitment towards achieving integration of quality procedures at every level throughout the organization. ISO certification and guidelines will help us keep a control and production and design processes. Continuous work is being undertaken to adopt total quality procedures in business and production processes.

Our long experience and exposure to this sector has enabled us to customize and engineer our casted components to different crushing needs and environments

The foundry is equipped with a metallurgical and mechanical testing laboratory to perform all of the metallographic, chemical and mechanical testing in-house. It is an integral part of our quality control program that helps us address any issue and resolve it swiftly.

ALL OF OUR TESTS CONFORM TO ASTM OR IS STANDARDS

Metallographic

  • Sample preparation for Micro Structure analysis and Grain size determination
  • Ultrasonic testing
  • MPI(magnetic particle inspection)
  • Radiography

Mechanical

  • Tensile
  • Bend test
  • Brinell Hardness
  • Charpy impact test

Chemical

  • Spectrometer – Foundry Master(Germany) for metallurgical analysis.
  • Chemical analysis(Wet analysis) of material composition

Design capabilities

At Ritam Steels we believe in investing on research and development for sustaining growth and bringing out the product differentiation through the same. Design and production teams for a quality circle and work in tandem to improve of cost efficiency of production and improve on design for liners.

Design are developed in CAD platform and further studying the 3D models before putting it into production. We undertake casting simulations for product methoding to ensure cost effective casting free of holes and defects.
